Yorkshire 3 Peaks
The staff at BCS realise that everyday is an uphill climb for each one of our students, with this in mind we decided to challenge ourselves to complete something out of our comfort zone.
The Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge was a physically and mentally tough challenge for all. The conditions included strong winds, heavy rain, freezing conditions and even snow. Starting the walk at 05:30 in the pitch black was a great idea till the team realised they were lost and added 1-2 miles on their journey. The team also experienced a funny moment or two with Lucy falling in the mud and Deb clinging on to the edge of a cliff! Once back on track they completed the walk in a time of 11 hours and 45 minutes.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks route is 24 miles (38.6km), and includes 1585m (5200ft) of ascent. The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and in under 12 hours.
